Men & Women
Hello!!
I am excited to start this blog for today. This week in our class we discussed the differences between men and women. Which to me is very clear. I believe that men and women have a specific purpose and that God created us to work together. I also believe that many people in today's society are getting their view mixed up on this topic.
As I type my thoughts, I'd appreciate all the positive comments everyone. If you disagree with me please keep the comments nice and respectful. I respect your opinons on this too so I hope you will do the same!
Between men and women there are MANY differences. We look different, we act different, and we think different too. I have 2 younger brothers and the way I think compared to how they think is SO different. My brother who is 18 and I were are really close. For this reason, I know that men/boys are much different than women/girls. However in our world today, people seem to think that men and women are the same, or that they should be the same.
An article we read in our class this week (click here) shows information about children and their toys. They formed a hypothesis that boy infants are more likely to grab a toy truck or a ball whether as girl infants play with a doll or pink teddy bear. So even as little babies we are different in thinking. Studies have shown that even the brain of a man is different than the brain of a woman. I think that men are so different yet we end up marrying them! It is so funny.
ARE THEY EQUAL?
In my opinon, I think that men and women have two different roles in life. And the main roles they have are to do what God says. They are to get married and have a family. I have a testimony of this plan God has for us. Here is a little bit more about this topic on LDS.org. We as children of God have a purpose and I am glad that we do. So back to answer my question.. Are men and women equal? We are hearing about women's rights, and all the feminists groups in the world which would probably drag us to to say no they are not equal. But, I disagree. I think men and women are created equal. They have different things to offer yes. I feel that we should stick to the basic morals and realize that it isn't about being equal. We should just let the men do them and us women, we do us!
Another thought that I remembered is that gender is a good thing. We were born into our specific gender because that is how God created us to be! I was created a girl because that is what God intended when He created me. Now a days, people are trying to change genders. Well, I disagree with this and I find it to be a little crazy. It's not neccesary and I feel that you should be happy with who you are. It all comes down to that. We need to realized that we are ALL important just the way we are!!
This past year in 2017-2018 I was able to go to the beautiful country of Uruguay. I served an LDS mission there. I was able to see the way their economy was and how much different their economy was from here in the United States. I found many differences but also some of the same things. They had transgenders there. They also had a group of people who were gay or lesbian. To me, it was kind of scary. I just think we shouldn't mess with something that God created. We just have to be us! :)
