 Finding Joy in the Journey

"Our ultimate quest in life is to prepare to meet our maker. We do this by striving daily to become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ. And we do that as we repent daily and receive His cleansing, healing and strengthening power.” Russell M. Nelson, “Opening Remarks”, April 2020 General Conference

"The most important lasting effects of this historic conference will be as our hearts change and we commence a lifelong quest to hear Him.”  Russell M. Nelson, “Opening Message”, April 2020 General Conference

"Let us follow Him. Let us emulate His example. Let us obey His word. By so doing, we give to Him the divine gift of gratitude. Brothers and sisters, my sincere prayer is that we may adapt to the changes in our lives, that we may realize what is most important, that we may express our gratitude always and thus find joy in the journey." Elder Thomas S. Monson "Finding Joy in the Journey", October 2008 General Conference

“ I believe in His perfection, and I know we are His spiritual sons and daughters with divine potential to become as He is. I also know that, as children of God, we should not demean or vilify ourselves, as if beating up on ourselves is somehow going to make us the person God wants us to become. No! With a willingness to repent and a desire for increased righteousness always in our hearts, I would hope we could pursue personal improvement in a way that doesn’t include getting ulcers or anorexia, feeling depressed, or demolishing our self-esteem.” Jeffery R. Holland, “Be Ye Therefore Perfect-Eventually”, October 2017 General Conference

“Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.” Thomas S. Monson, “Finding Joy in the Journey”, October 2008 General Conference

“A feeling of light will stay with us even as the world around us becomes darker.” Henry B. Eyring “Prayers of Faith” April 2020 General Conference

"Your joy in life depends upon your trust in Heavenly Father and His holy Son, your conviction that their plan of happiness truly can bring you joy. Pondering their doctrine will let you enjoy the beauties of this earth and enrich your relationships with others. It will lead you to the comforting, strengthening experiences that flow from prayer to Father in Heaven and the answers He gives in return." Elder Richard G. Scott, "Finding Joy in Life" April 1996, General Conference

"Life is filled with detours and dead ends, trials, and challenges of every kind. Each of us has likely had times when distress, anguish, and despair almost consumed us. Yet we are here to have joy? Yes! The answer is a resounding yes! But how is that possible? And what must we do to claim the joy that Heavenly Father has in store for us?" Elder Russell M. Nelson, "Joy and Spiritual Survival" October 2016, General Conference

"Every day that you and I choose to live celestial laws, every day that we keep our covenants and help others to do the same, joy will be ours." Elder Russell M. Nelson, "Joy and Spiritual Survival" October 2016, General Conference

"Your agency, the right to make choices, is not given so that you can get what you want. This divine gift is provided so that you will choose what your Father in Heaven wants for you. That way He can lead you to become all that He intends you to be.5 That path leads to glorious joy and happiness." Elder Richard G. Scott, "Finding Joy in Life" April 1996, General Conference
